Arsenal finished their penultimate match of pre-season in defeat to Villarreal, being caught out despite being dominant in the game.
They fell behind to a Nicolas Pepe goal after a string of early chances. A strike from outside the box hitting the post before coming back off David Raya only to eventually land at the feet of the Ivorian following a subsequent cross.
Christian Norgaard scored at the back post from a corner following the Gunners going two down initially, which came from another rebounding effort finding Karl Etta Eyong at the back post. Viktor Gyokeres did have a chance to hit the net after being played in by Merino but sadly hit the keeper instead.
The Gunners went three down from former Tottenham forward Arnaut Danjuma. Max Dowman then won another penalty which Martin Odegaard coolly dispatched.
