Arsenal left it late to secure a 2-0 win over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday night. The Gunners managed to secure all three points at the Emirates Stadium thanks to goals from Viktor Gyokeres and Max Dowman.
Mikel Arteta’s side had the chance to extend their lead over Manchester City to ten points before the 8pm kick-off against West Ham at the London Stadium, and did so courtesy of the late strikes from Gyokeres and Dowman.
As a result of the win, Arsenal’s advantage now stands at ten points, having played two games more. City’s first game in hand will be on Saturday evening at West Ham, while the other is a rearranged fixture against Crystal Palace.
Arsenal will now prepare to face Bayer Leverkusen in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, where the Gunners hope to overturn a 1-1 stalemate from the first leg.

The Gunners have to play City twice in their next five matches and could have a Champions League quarter-final tie thrown in there for good measure too.
Games against Southampton and Bournemouth should be straightforward, but there is the emotional energy of the Carabao Cup final in a week to consider.
