Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures compared to Man City after title twist

1 hour ago 2

The Premier League title race has taken a huge twist after Arsenal and Manchester City unexpectedly dropped points on Saturday.

Arsenal failed to take full advantage of a Man City slip-up in the title race as they drew 0-0 against Nottingham Forest. Pep Guardiola's side were beaten 2-0 by Manchester United earlier in the day which meant the Gunners could go nine points clear at the top with a win at the City Ground, although they could not find a way through.

Gabriel Martinelli missed a great chance in the first half with Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka forcing Matz Sels into superb saves during the second 45. Arsenal were rarely troubled at the back with David Raya untested as only six shots were taken at his goal.

Two dropped points leaves Arsenal on 50 with Aston Villa having the chance to reduce the gap to just four if they beat Everton at Villa Park on Sunday.

3-2 victories and goalless draws have become common for Arsenal in the last few weeks with Bournemouth and Chelsea beaten by the former either side of a stalemate against Liverpool. All of those matches came across nine days and more fixtures in several competitions are coming thick and fast.

Liverpool (A) - Feb 8

Guardiola's side will be aiming to do the double over a misfiring Liverpool that have again drawn to a newly-promoted team at Anfield. City then host Fulham, and Newcastle United, as February elapses with two wins required if they are to get back into the title race.
