Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures compared to Man City as title race takes fresh twist

The Premier League title race between Arsenal and Manchester City continues to heat up following the latest weekend of action

Arsenal secured a vital three points in the Premier League title race as they beat Chelsea 2-1 at Emirates Stadium. William Saliba and Jurrien Timber were on target for the hosts with a Piero Hincapie own goal sandwiched between those two set-piece strikes.

Mikel Arteta's side initially went in front with Gabriel Magalhaes winning first contact from a corner with Saliba, via Mamadou Sarr, heading home from just a few yards out.

Chelsea responded with a set-piece of their own just before half-time as Reece James' corner was glanced into his own net by Hincapie. Arsenal ultimately proved themselves as the masters of dead-ball situations with Timber heading a Declan Rice corner into the back of the net midway through the second half.

The visitors had plenty of chances before Arsenal's second, but any hope of another equaliser diminished when Pedro Neto was sent off for two cautions in quick succession.

With all of that being said, football.london has taken a look at the upcoming fixtures for both City and Arsenal as the title race continues to heat up...

Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures

Brighton (A) - March 4

Everton (H) - March 15

Bournemouth (H) - April 11/12

Man City (A) - April 18/19

Newcastle (H) - April 25/26

Verdict: Arsenal have some challenging league games on the horizon, which includes a trip to Man City. Before then, the Gunners make the short trip south to face Brighton in the coming days.

FA Cup and Champions League action takes centre stage following that, before Arsenal return to Emirates Stadium, with Everton, who have beaten Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle United away from home, as their next opponents.

Following the Carabao Cup final and last international break of the season, Arsenal are back on home soil as they take on Bournemouth, who beat them in north London last season. Then comes the potentially title-deciding clash against Pep Guardiola's side with just a month left of the campaign after that.

Arsenal close out April at home to Newcastle United with Arteta's side winning the reverse fixture in the final knockings back in September.

Manchester City's next five Premier League fixtures

Nottingham Forest (H) - March 4

West Ham (A) - March 14

Chelsea (A) - April 11/12

Arsenal (H) - April 18/19

Burnley (A) - April 25/26

Verdict: It is a similar story for City as they face some far from straightforward encounters over the coming weeks. Relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest are up first, though City will fancy their chances at Etihad Stadium.

West Ham United - another team fighting for their lives at the bottom - face City after that, with it coming 24 hours before Arsenal's game that weekend. A trip to Stamford Bridge comes after the lengthy domestic pause with Guardiola's side hoping to avoid a repeat of the reverse fixture when they conceded a last-minute equaliser.

The big one in the title race comes the following weekend with the final of City's next five league games away to second-placed Burnley.
