Arsenal are close to announcing a new signing during their pre-season tour of Asia. The Gunners will continue their preparations for the new 2025/26 Premier League season in Singapore.
Arteta has named a 30-man squad for the trip, as they prepare to face AC Milan on Wednesday (July 23) and Newcastle United four days later. Arsenal will then end the tour with a game against Tottenham on Thursday, July 31. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard have all completed moves to the Emirates Stadium so far this summer.
football.london understands that the Gunners remain active in exploring multiple transfer options. Andrea Berta is believed to favour keeping several possibilities open before settling on a final target.
With that said, football.london also understands that Arsenal are moving closer to completing a deal for Cristhian Mosquera. The Spaniard is set to fly to Singapore to link up with his new teammates and Mikel Arteta.
The 21-year-old can play both centre-back and right-back, helping fill the void left by Takehiro Tomiyasu, who mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the club.
Speaking about the new signings, Arteta said: "It's like shaking the tree again and bringing new faces. They bring new excitement, a new energy as well. We signed very important players as well. Again, everybody feels like their height has to go to a different level, and that's what we're seeking.
"Ideally, you want it (transfers) done on day one in pre-season. We've done very, very well so far. I'm very pleased with the way the club is supporting the necessities and improvements that we required in the team.

"Andrea [Berta] and the team have done an excellent job as well, trying to push everything forward. There's still a long time to go in that window. We have a lot of hope that we can still improve the team. We're going to continue to try to do that."
Arsenal still remain locked in negotiations with Sporting Clube de Portugal for Viktor Gyokeres.
As reported by football.london over the weekend, Arsenal remain calm as they enter the final stages of negotiations with Sporting. A fee of €63.5million (£55m), plus €10m (£8.7m) in add-ons, has been agreed in principle.
The delay stems from ongoing discussions over the deal’s final structure, particularly the conditions for the add-ons.
