Arsenal star Jurrien Timber part of new £2m decision - 'What impressed me most'

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber has become the latest high-profile athlete to back Hytro - a pioneering UK blood flow restriction brand favoured by elite sports teams and even utilised in space missions.

Gunners star Timber, alongside his twin brother Quinten - also a Netherlands international - and NFL's LA Chargers cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, have all invested through the athlete-led angel syndicate Joyned Capital. They are joining a roster of Hytro backers that includes ex-British and Irish Lions skipper Sam Warburton, tennis ace Cameron Norrie, and Houston Texans' Casey Toohill.

Skin In The Game, an investment collective with a keen eye on sports and performance innovation, participated in the recent funding round, believed to be in excess of £2million, CityAM report. This financial boost comes as Hytro is poised for more global growth, having recently secured a US patent for its wearable blood flow restriction (BFR) technology, designed to enhance training effectiveness and aid recovery.

England, Wales, and Samoa's rugby squads use Hytro wearables, and the company boasts partnerships across the NFL, NBA, Premier League, Formula 1, and professional cycling.

"Performance and recovery are everything in modern football. Hytro is changing the game in both," Timber said on the investment.

"I've experienced the benefits of BFR training first-hand, and what impressed me most about Hytro is how easy it is to use, whether you're a pro or just training at home. This is a product built for the future, I believe Hytro can take it to the next level."

Hytro's CEO and co-founder Raj Thiruchelvarajah expressed his enthusiasm over gaining support from esteemed athletes like Timber.
