Arsenal take on Manchester City at Wembley Stadium, looking to win their first piece of silverware since 2020 in the Carabao Cup final. Mikel Arteta is taking on his former mentor Pep Guardiola once again as the two Premier League title rivals go head-to-head in this domestic cup clash.
The Gunners are the team in much better form, having progressed to the last eight of the UEFA Champions League, whereas City found themselves dumped out by Real Madrid. Furthermore, after back-to-back draws in the Premier League, the Gunners have exploited the dip in their rivals’ form and opened a nine-point lead at the top of the table.
Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard were both spotted in Arsenal training pictures ahead of the match, having previously been out injured. Meanwhile, Marc Guehi misses the match due to being cup-tied, but Antoine Semenyo is available to play.
Tom Canton, our Arsenal reporter, is at the Emirates Stadium and will bring you all the latest news and updates as it happens...

Gabriel Magalhaes aim revealed despite reaching Arsenal peak as Erling Haaland admission made
Gabriel Magalhaes says he must “stay humble” amid talk of personal glory in a season of potential multiple major successes for Arsenal ahead of the Carabao Cup final.
Sitting down with the Gunners stalwart, despite his relaxed persona, it was unsurprising just how alert and aware the 28-year-old was throughout the conversation. The Brazilian even detected a Mancunian accent of one of the reporters in the group, saying with a glare that became a wide smile: “You’re from Manchester? What are you doing here?... I am joking.”
Many a centre-forward has shuddered in the face of one half of the Gunners’ imposing centre-back pairing. Gabriel and William Saliba have helped give Arsenal a foundation that has established itself as one of Europe’s most impressive sides.

Mikel Arteta reveals what Arsenal squad must do to beat Man City and win Carabao Cup
Mikel Arteta has given his Arsenal players a simple instruction to win the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.
After close to six years since the last piece of major silverware, the Gunners could finally end a trophy drought that has crept up on them despite their competitive title-chasing streak.
In that time, however, Arteta believes his team have learned plenty, and the experience they have gained gives them a chance to justify their presence at this stage.

Arsenal get guaranteed Carabao Cup final boost six years in the making to help break Man City
Arsenal are set to play their first Wembley cup final since the FA Cup victory over Chelsea in 2020. Their opponents, the team who the Gunners eliminated at the semi-final stage nearly six years ago, are Manchester City.
This cup final, famously, came during Mikel Arteta’s first season in charge, having taken over the previous December. It was not even his first full season, and had taken over a side who, under Unai Emery, had both lost their way on the pitch and behind the scenes.
Mistakes were frequent, and efficiency was non-existent. Yet, the Spaniard found a way to win, much to do with a system change, which, if you look at Arteta’s more recent sides, is a total contrast.

Arsenal predicted XI vs Man City with Kai Havertz decision and big Carabao Cup final changes
Arsenal play Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday afternoon at Wembley Stadium. The Gunners will be looking to win their first major piece of silverware since 2020, when Mikel Arteta picked up his first trophy during his first season in charge.
Arteta’s side has been on a journey since then, with the entire project aiming to turn the club into a multiple-trophy-winning side. However, despite coming extremely close in the Premier League, this is the first cup final since that previous victory during the pandemic.
This means, of course, that it is the first time Arsenal supporters have been allowed into a stadium for a final for quite some time, creating a different environment entirely. There are some questions over some players in the squad which Arteta will be hoping are available.

Arsenal Carabao Cup final line ups decided as Kepa decision made amid striker disagreement
Arsenal are gunning for their first piece of silverware of the season as they prepare to go head-to-head with Premier League title rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.
Mikel Arteta is waiting to learn if captain Martin Odegaard and right-back Jurrien Timber are available, though the Dutchman is seemingly more likely than the playmaker to return to the fold.
Arteta faces a massive call between the sticks as Kepa Arrizabalaga has started all of the club's League Cup matches on the road to Wembley. But there is still a chance David Raya could get the nod.
