Tottenham host Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday night (2-5 aggregate)

Atletico Madrid's potential starting XI for Wednesday's Champions League knockout clash against Tottenham has leaked in the Spanish media.

That's because Diego Simeone's side were back in training on Monday ahead of the contest following their 1-0 triumph over 10-man Getafe on Saturday.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Simeone already has a firm idea about his starting lineup as goalkeeper Jan Oblak is expected to miss the contest with a muscle injury.

Midfielders Rodrigo Mendoza and Pablo Barrios are also expected to remain sidelined with Atletico set to travel to London on Tuesday.

Simeone has reportedly been training with the following XI: Juan Musso in goal, Marc Pubill at right-back, Matteo Ruggeri at left-back and Robin Le Normand and David Hancko as the centre-backs.

Like the first-leg, Marcos Llorente and Johnny Cardoso look poised to start in midfield and Giuliano Simeone and Ademola Lookman should start on the flanks.

In attack, Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann, who both scored against Spurs last week (Alvarez twice), lead the line.

Atletico have now won six of their last seven matches in all competitions as they bid to inflict more misery upon Tottenham.

Given Spurs are already light on numbers, it cannot be ruled out that Igor Tudor will use this tie as a chance to rest players ahead of Sunday's crunch Premier League relegation six-pointer against Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham, Forest and West Ham all picked up a point this weekend and Spurs cannot afford to throw away three points on home soil against their fellow relegation rivals.

Speaking ahead of the first leg in Madrid, Tudor made it clear the club's domestic season is currently of greater priority than Europe for obvious reasons.

The Croat said last Monday following the 5-2 humbling at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano: "We need to do our best in terms that we need to grow," Tudor added. "Our first aim is the Premier League - this is something that needs to be said publicly.

"It's a normal thing. [The Champions League] is something extra, but that doesn't mean we don't want to advance and go to the next round."

Tudor picked up his first point as Spurs interim boss on Sunday at Liverpool as Richarlison struck a late equaliser for the Europa League winners.
