With the winter transfer window now open, PSG has the chance to strengthen its squad for the remainder of the 2025–26 season while still keeping long-term plans in mind.
The club’s handling of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia highlights this approach. PSG monitored the winger throughout the summer of 2024 and only acted in early 2025 when it aligned with their broader strategy.
Football Insider reports that PSG are keeping an eye on Marcus Rashford’s situation at Barcelona. The Catalan side appear ready to trigger his €35 million release clause, but PSG could intervene if the Spanish side hesitates.
However, Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs noted that while PSG are targeting a versatile forward in 2026, a Rashford deal this season is not on the table.
Marcus Rashford to Stay at Barcelona?

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Rashford has told Barcelona he wants to remain with the club beyond this season. While a formal deal hasn’t been finalized, Barcelona are reportedly “very happy” with the England international’s impact so far. The Catalan side can make the move from Manchester United permanent for roughly €30 million this summer.
Moreover, the forward recently stated that he wants to remain with the Catalan side and does not intend to return to Man Utd.

“Of course, what I want is to stay at Barca,” Rashford told Sport. “It’s the ultimate goal, but it’s not the reason I’m training hard and giving my all. The purpose is to win. Barca is a huge, fantastic club, built to win titles. There is pressure here, but it’s not negative pressure; it’s the kind you crave as a player, the kind I want and have always wanted as a footballer.
“I can’t be in a place where there aren’t high expectations; for me, it’s harder to stay motivated and give my best at a club where the demands aren’t at their peak. I’m in the perfect place and environment to continue my journey as a footballer, so I’m just trying to give my best every day and help the team win. We’ll see what happens next summer.”
