Now that the FIFA international window has ended, the UEFA Champions League league phase is set to begin. PSG are opening their title defense on September 17 against Atalanta, with the early marquee matchup coming on October 1 when they face FC Barcelona.
Both teams were on a collision course for last season’s Champions League final. However, Barcelona fell to Inter Milan in the semifinals, allowing PSG to secure a convincing win over the Italian side.
It’s not a final, but fans will finally get to see PSG take on Barcelona. Additionally, the Spanish side reportedly received some good news ahead of the game.
Where Will PSG Face Barcelona?

On Sunday, Jose Alvarez Haya of El Chiringuito TV reported that PSG will be facing Barcelona at Camp Nou next month.
“They’re trying to speed up the process, but the permits take seven or eight days,” Alvarez said. “Under normal circumstances, they would have tried to make it in time.
“However, I’m hearing that for the match against Real Sociedad, they’ll return to Camp Nou with 27,000 fans. There have already been many inquiries today, and it’s been confirmed that UEFA is aware Barcelona will play their Champions League matches at Camp Nou.”

There’s no doubt that Barcelona want to face PSG at their newly renovated stadium to draw in a bigger crowd for this big-time European match. Still, seeing if they have all the optics ready for this clash will be interesting.
