Tottenham Hotspur are once again bracing for serious interest in Micky van de Ven, with reports suggesting one European giant is stepping up their pursuit ahead of the summer window.

Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Micky Van de Ven continues to attract interest from clubs across Europe and within the Premier League.

Real Madrid have been linked with the Dutchman, and it is reported that he is waiting for a call from the Spanish outfit.

Liverpool and Manchester United are also in the race for van de Ven. The Red Devils are reported to be weighing up a £125million move for the defender, while Liverpool see him as a potential Virgil Van Dijk replacement.

Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven subject of intensified Barcelona transfer push

According to Sport, Barcelona have now entered the race for van de Ven, with the La Liga side reported to be intensifying their efforts to sign the Tottenham centre-back this summer.

The Dutchman is said to have emerged as a target for the Spanish side as complications persist in their pursuit of Alessandro Bastoni, who is their preferred option.

With a deal for the Inter centre-back described as complicated, Barcelona have now turned their focus towards Van de Ven, who is understood to be interested in a move to the Catalan club.

Spurs face uncertain future over Micky van de Ven contract and valuation

Spurs have attempted to tie Van de Ven down to a new contract but have yet to make progress on that front, with the centre-back understood not to be sold on a deal just yet.

The former Wolfsburg man joined Tottenham for €40million (£34million) and is now said to be valued at around €65million (£55million), although the report claims he could be sold for less.

It is stated that Van de Ven does not want to remain at a club in crisis and would prioritise a move to Barcelona over other suitors, potentially bringing his time at Tottenham to an end.
