Nicolas Jackson left Chelsea during the summer transfer window to join Bayern Munich on loan with an obligation to buy

Chelsea have been handed a major update regarding Nicolas Jackson's future at the club as he continues his loan spell at Bayern Munich.

The Blues loaned Jackson to the Bundesliga champions during the summer transfer window after a busy few weeks in the market.

Enzo Maresca guided Chelsea to the Club World Cup title in the summer, where Jackson featured in the squad in the United States.

However, Chelsea signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap before the tournament, which eventually led to Jackson seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge before the summer transfer window closed.

Jackson signed for Bayern on a loan deal for the season, which includes an obligation to make the move permanent next summer, provided certain conditions are met.

The deal included a £14.2 million loan deal, plus a further £56.2million could be earned if a permanent move is completed in the summer of 2026.

Now, a fresh update has emerged about Jackson's future at Bayern.

Sport Bild have dismissed recent rumours that have suggested that Jackson could see his loan deal with the German giants come to an early end when the January transfer window opens.

The report has suggested that it appears unlikely at this moment in time that Bayern will decide to buy Jackson on a permanent deal next summer.

It remains to be seen what plans Bayern will have with regard to Jackson's future, with certain terms needing to be completed in order for the permanent transfer to be completed.

Jackson almost didn't sign for Bayern in the first place, but an injury to Delap at the end of August temporarily led to Chelsea preventing the transfer from going ahead.

In the end, Jackson got his wish and signed for Bayern for the season ahead and has since gone on to score three goals across his first 12 appearances for the club.
