After almost two-and-a-half years, the Blues are back among Europe's elite sides in the most prestigious of competitions. April 2023 was then Chelsea last kicked a ball in the Champions League - losing 4-0 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals - but tonight we will see them on one of the world's biggest stages yet again.

Enzo Maresca's young squad could not face a much trickier challenge for their first match back, with Bayern Munich the opposition. The German champions are looking to win the competition for a seventh time in their history, with Vincent Kompany looking to write his name in folklore at the Allianz Arena - the venue for this evening's match.
