Ben Doak transfer confirmed as Liverpool sales this summer now eclipse $250M

2 hours ago 33

Ben Doak has officially left Liverpool to sign for Bournemouth. The 19-year-old former Celtic forward has joined the Cherries for a fee of around $34 million (£25 million) as a replacement for Dango Ouattara, who has moved to Brentford.

Scotland international Doak did well when he played during Liverpool's pre-season preparations, but with Mohamed Salah for competition down the right flank, he was always unlikely to get many minutes once the serious stuff began. Having done well on loan at Middlesbrough, there was no shortage of interest.

Doak was considered by Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town in the winter transfer window but neither team was willing to meet Liverpool's asking price. Leeds United and others had considered him this summer.

Doak is the latest in a long line of players to have left Liverpool this summer. Trent Alexander-Arnold ($13M/£10M), Jarell Quansah ($47M/£35M), Caoimhin Kelleher ($24M/£18M), Tyler Morton ($20M/£15M), Luis Diaz ($89M/£66M), Nat Phillips ($4M/£3M) and Darwin Nunez ($62M/£46M) have all moved on.

That totals $259 million (£193 million) in players sold, with the Reds' net spend now sitting at around $142 million (£105 million) after the addition of Giovanni Leoni from Parma.
