Ben White injury return timeframe emerges as Arsenal braced for welcome boost

Arsenal have been handed a welcome injury boost ahead of their return to Premier League action. The Gunners will take on Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday in their first match back after the September international break.

Mikel Arteta's side were on the receiving end of a defeat to title rivals Liverpool before the two-week hiatus and will be determined to return to winning ways. Arsenal were without Ben White for the defeat at Anfield at the end of last month, with the defender on the sidelines with an injury for the past two matches.

White has made just one appearance so far this term which came in the season opener against Manchester United, where Arsenal claimed a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford.

The Evening Standard are reporting that Arsenal are hopeful that White can be in contention to feature in the clash against Forest this weekend.

The report claims that the Gunners will make a decision on White's availability later this week after the defender undergoes further assessment on his fitness.

Against Man United, Arteta selected White to start at right-back and has instead opted to go with Jurrien Timber in the role in the win over Leeds and defeat to Liverpool in the subsequent fixtures.

White is not the only player on the sidelines for Arsenal as the international break nears its conclusion.

Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Norgaard are all injury concerns for the Gunners heading into the weekend, with Arteta expected to provide an update when he speaks to the media later in the week.
