Big difference between Tottenham training under Thomas Frank and Roberto De Zerbi revealed

A report has shed light on the approach Roberto De Zerbi has taken to the training sessions at Tottenham and how they are different to the ones under his predecessors.

According to reports, it did not take long for De Zerbi to win over the Tottenham squad, with some players raving about the Italian’s methods to their friends.

It was also claimed by Miguel Delaney a few days ago that many Spurs players feel De Zerbi’s methods are ‘elite’, and his arrival had injected new enthusiasm and spirit into the club.

However, the 46-year-old received a reality check regarding the difficulty of his challenge at Tottenham on Sunday as they fell to a 1-0 loss at Sunderland and dropped into the relegation zone.

Why Roberto De Zerbi is avoiding double sessions and limiting instructions at Tottenham

The Daily Mail have now revealed that the new Spurs head coach is currently living at the Lodge in Hotspur Way, which has enabled him to work long hours.

The report states that the Tottenham boss has been careful to ‘limit the instructions he has passed on’ to his players to avoid overburdening them with information.

Additionally, training sessions under De Zerbi have been shorter than they were under Frank or Igor Tudor, but the sessions have always been focused on ball work.

This is because the new Tottenham head coach wants his players to display courage on the ball, keep possession and play in an attacking style.

The Italian has not had a double session so far at Hotspur Way, as he is mindful of the cumulative workload and physical strain on the players at this stage of the season.

De Zerbi remains positive about Spurs’ survival chances

The Tottenham boss did not have the start he would have hoped for, with the Lilywhites falling to a loss at Sunderland and losing Cristian Romero to an injury.

However, De Zerbi defended Tottenham’s performance in the North East, insisting that his side did not deserve to be on the losing side.

The Italian praised the spirit his players showed at the Stadium of Light and insisted that “everything will change” once they get a win under their belt.
