Blow for Crystal Palace ahead of Tottenham clash that could level the playing field

Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace in mid-week.

Tottenham have sustained two back-to-back London derby losses, and they now look forward to another on short notice.

Igor Tudor has asked his Spurs players not to dwell on the Fulham defeat and to focus on working hard over the coming days, but that is easier said than done for a depleted squad lacking in confidence.

Tottenham Hotspur are still looking for their first win of the calendar year, and they have now received a boost ahead of Thursday’s clash.

Maxence Lacroix ruled out of Tottenham clash

Crystal Palace will be without one of their main men for their trip to North London after Maxence Lacroix was sent off in the Eagles’ 2-1 loss at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Frenchman received a straight red for a denial of a goalscoring opportunity, which means he is now suspended for the Spurs clash.

Oliver Glasner admitted it is a blow for his side to be without Lacroix, telling Palace’s official website: “The next game we play Tottenham, and it sounds like he will be suspended. We always have to make changes. I usually don’t like this because that’s the foundation. I think it’s important for us to get consistency back.”

Tottenham will be without the suspended Cristian Romero, who will serve his final one of his four-match suspensions against the Eagles.

Spurs have one more injury concern

Kevin Danso and Pedro Porro both returned to action for Tottenham at Craven Cottage, but the Lilywhites have lost another player to an injury.

Djed Spence missed the clash against Fulham with a minor calf problem, adding to Spurs’ injury woes.

Tottenham fans would be hoping that a couple more of their key men return to action over the next few weeks as the Lilywhites attempt to claw themselves out of relegation trouble.
