PSG are dealing with growing uncertainty at the goalkeeper position, and LOSC Lille’s Lucas Chevalier is emerging as a potential long-term solution. The 23-year-old French shot-stopper has attracted serious interest as the summer transfer window gathers pace.

L’Équipe recently reported that PSG have stepped up their efforts to sign Lucas Chevalier, who is under contract through 2027. Talks over a five-year deal began, and Chevalier has already reached a broad agreement on personal terms.

The Parisians are now preparing to open formal negotiations with Lille, with only minor details left to sort out. Moreover, the expected fee is at least €40 million, a price PSG have already discussed internally and are ready to meet.

L’Equipe reported Tuesday that the negotiations between Lille and PSG are playing out similarly to those with Bournemouth. PSG have submitted two verbal offers since talks began, but both were rejected. Their latest bid was €40 million including bonuses, while Lille are holding out for €40 million excluding any add-ons.

Unlike Illia Zabarnyi, Chevalier has appeared noticeably more relaxed in recent days. Whether in training or during matches, the goalkeeper has shown a big smile and a composed demeanor.

ESPN recently reported that Aston Villa have made contact with LOSC Lille over a potential deal for Lucas Chevalier. The French goalkeeper has been identified as a possible replacement for Emiliano Martínez, who’s weighing up a move away from the club. However, it looks like Villa may miss out on their target.
