Amidst Tottenham’s interest in Antoine Semenyo, a new update has shed light on what Bournemouth are thinking about the Ghana winger’s future.
Semenyo was mooted as a target for Tottenham in the summer, but the North London club did not make a concrete move for the 25-year-old, who did not come close to leaving the Vitality Stadium in the summer.
However, looking at the way the winger has started the season, Spurs and other Premier League clubs may be rueing the fact that they did not break the bank for him.
The former Bristol City man has arguably been the best attacker on show so far this season, having scored three goals and provided two assists in four league matches so far.
Bournemouth prepared to lose Antoine Semenyo amid Tottenham links
Football Insider have now claimed that the Cherries star was indeed on Tottenham’s radar in the summer, and suggests that the Lilywhites may reignite their interest in the player.
Semenyo’s form at the start of the season has also attracted envious glances from several top clubs, and Bournemouth are now readying themselves for heavy interest in the winger next summer.
In fact, the outlet adds that Andoni Iraola’s men are preparing for the possibility of losing the Ghanaian next summer, as there is a realisation at the Vitality Stadium that it will be difficult to hold onto him.
Bournemouth’s stance on selling Semenyo in January
Football Insider say that Bournemouth will demand top dollar for their star man as he only signed a new long-term deal in the summer, which runs until 2030.
The report asserts that the South Coast club will not entertain any offers for Semenyo during the January transfer window.
It is explained that Bournemouth do not need the money after the big sales they made in the summer, and the club feel that they cannot find a replacement for Semenyo in the winter transfer market.
