Chelsea have reached an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Alejandro Garnacho, football.london understands. Earlier this year, the Argentine winger was told by Ruben Amorim he could leave Old Trafford with a move to Stamford Bridge as his priority.
Attempts by Chelsea to sign him were made in the January transfer window but those were rebuffed. However, Garnacho has been set on joining the Blues with his wish now being granted.
He will sign a seven-year contract with the Blues and will cost £40 million as a fixed fee. United have also included a 10 per cent sell-on clause in the deal.
Enzo Maresca's side have already brought in Mamadou Sarr, Dario Essugo, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato this summer with Garnacho set to become their seventh summer signing.
Another new arrival into west London before deadline day is certainly possible with talks held for RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons and Fermin Lopez of Barcelona. The latter is a relatively new target while discussions have been ongoing for Simons over the last few months.
Tottenham are now attempting to hijack that deal with Simons, who was in London on Thursday, said to be open to joining despite having his heart set on Chelsea. It would appear as though delay in the switch going through with Chelsea prioritising Garnacho may have impacted his stance.
Maresca had also made it clear he wanted a defender to replace the injured Levi Colwill but it now looks as though Tosin Adarabioyo and academy star Josh Acheampong have been identified as internal solutions.
Agreeing departures has been the main priority throughout August with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Joao Felix, Carney Chukwuemeka, Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu all moving on permanently.

Chelsea also want to sell Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku with the latter set to depart as a deal has been agreed with AC Milan for his services. Jackson meanwhile, appears primed for a temporary switch to Bayern Munich with their top striker target Nick Woltemade joining Newcastle United.
Alexander Isak looks set to be the final transfer domino in this scenario with the chances of him joining Liverpool before Monday, September increasing.
Chelsea may hold off sanctioning Jackson's exit just in case Newcastle or even Liverpool show a late interest, as per the Telegraph.
