The signing of Norgaard comes after Thomas Partey departed the Gunners on a free transfer following the conclusion of his contract. Norgaard will now compete with the likes of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and new signing Martin Zubimendi for a place in the Arsenal midfield.

The new signing could potentially make his Arsenal debut later this month in Singapore when the club play AC Milan in their first friendly of the summer on Wednesday, July 23. Arteta's men face a further match against Newcastle United four days later in Singapore, before then taking on Tottenham in a North London Derby showdown in Hong Kong on Thursday, July 31.

Norgaard joins Kepa Arrizabalaga and Zubimendi in making the move to Arsenal for the new season. Further additions are hoped for, including the big-money signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.
