Breaking: Chelsea agree late transfer with Premier League rival ahead of deadline day

2 days ago 40

Everton have agreed a deal to sign Tyrique George on a loan deal until the end of the season, football.london understands.

The 19-year-old winger is on his way to the Hill Dickinson Stadium until the end of the 2025/26 campaign with the Toffees having an option to buy inserted into the contract. George has played just 11 times for Chelsea's senior side this term and is looking for regular football elsewhere.

In Everton, he may have found that following the news that Jack Grealish has been ruled out until the end of the season with a foot injury. George has been at Chelsea since joining as an Under-8 through the club's development centre programme but could leave for good in the summer, should Everton decide to take up the option to buy.

The Cobham graduate came close to joining Fulham on a permanent deal last summer but his move to Craven Cottage collapsed on deadline day. George is yet to feature under newly-appointed head coach Liam Rosenior, who took over from Enzo Maresca last month, with Chelsea having an array of options in his position.

Elsewhere, the Blues are still considering their options when it comes to the centre-back situation. Aaron Anselmino, who was recalled from his loan at Borussia Dortmund last weekend, is set to join Strasbourg until the end of the season.
