Breaking: Chelsea deal sealed after transfer deadline as £70m windfall secured

Nicolas Jackson is a Bayern Munich player. The 24-year-old has signed a season-long loan deal at the Allianz Arena with an obligation to buy inserted into his contract.

Chelsea and Bayern agreed on a package worth more than £70million for Jackson, with the German champions paying a £14.2million loan fee and £56.2million as an obligation if certain conditions - that are unfortunately classified - are met.

One of the more bizarre and chaotic transfer sagas of the summer has reached its conclusion. Initially, Chelsea and Bayern agreed on a season-long loan deal with an option to make it permanent, but the Blues decided to pull the plug on that on Saturday following Liam Delap's injury in the win over Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

However, Ali Barat and the rest of Jackson's entourage remained in Munich desperate to salvage the deal. They found success, at last, on Monday, with hours remaining of the summer transfer window.
