Liverpool has confirmed the signing of Jeremy Jacquet, with the Rennes defender set to complete his move to Anfield later this year.

Jacquet underwent a medical on Merseyside earlier today ahead of the winter transfer window closing, with an $82 million (£60M) deal understood to have been agreed between the two clubs, with Liverpool paying $75M (£55M) up front, and $6.8M (£5M) included in add-ons.

The 20-year-old has signed a five-year deal which will take him through to the summer of 2031, with the club holding the option of an extra year. The announcement comes after Jacquet was the subject of speculation throughout January, having been strongly linked with Chelsea earlier in the window.
