The transfer saga surrounding Alexander Isak could be set for a dramatic conclusion in the coming days after it was reported Liverpool will make a move for the Newcastle United striker this weekend.
With Newcastle having finally struck a deal to sign a striker in the form of Stuttgart's Nick Woltemade, the Reds will now look to make a record-breaking British transfer bid for the Swede, who is adamant he wants to leave St. James' Park this summer after alleging promises made to him over a new contract were broken.
Liverpool had a bid rejected for Isak earlier this summer. However, it now looks as though they will go back in for Isak ahead of the transfer window closing at the end of the month. The Telegraph report Liverpool will make a $175 million (£130m) bid for Isak.
