Tim Lewis is set to quit his position as Arsenal executive vice-chair in a shock revamp of the club's board.
Lewis, 62, has advised Arsenal's ownership group Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) since 2007 before becoming a director of the Gunners in September 2020 and then promoted in March 2023.
But now, a decision has been made for Lewis, who has been long associated with Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke, 78, to leave the Emirates Stadium in a move that is seen as a dramatic change in the club's leadership structure.
football.london understands that Lewis' departure is a surprise decision and there had not been necessarily clear signs this was in the pipeline. It comes almost 12 months since the shock exit of Edu Gaspar, although it remains unclear at the time how Lewis' departure has come about and who is the driver behind the decision.
Josh Kroenke, 45, has played a prominent role at the Emirates Stadium in recent years and will continue to do so, with managing director Richard Garlick set to become the club's new Chief Executive (CEO).
Further new additions will be made to the board with two more KSE representatives due to arrive, while a long-term advisor as well as film producer and Arsenal season-ticket holder Ben Winston set to join.
