Tottenham travel to Brentford to kick the new year off with a Premier League derby in familiar surroundings for Thomas Frank.
The 52-year-old spent nine years at Brentford, with seven of those as the head coach before making the move across London to Tottenham last summer. Now Frank returns to the Gtech Community Stadium with Spurs in 13th place in the Premier League and his old team ninth under Keith Andrews.
With just a point between the sides, a win for Frank's charges would see them leapfrog his former employers and build on the 1-0 win at Crystal Palace last weekend. The Dane has captain Cristian Romero back from suspension but remains without Xavi Simons, who is serving the second of his three game-ban for his red card against Liverpool.
Last season's top scorer Brennan Johnson is expected to be left out of the squad for the game at Brentford as Tottenham look to sell the 24-year-old to Crystal Palace for a fee of around £35million.
Our Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold is reporting live from the game. Scroll down for his live updates from the Gtech Community Stadium.
