Manchester City take on Brighton in the Premier League later today, so we simulated the clash to predict the outcome.

Man City will be looking to bounce back to winning ways later today when Pep Guardiola's side face Brighton in the Premier League.
After an emphatic 4-0 win against Wolves, City were handed their first defeat of the season last weekend, with Guardiola's side losing 2-0 to Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium. It was far from a good performance from City, but they have the chance to get back on track later today with a trip to Brighton.
Brighton are yet to win a game this season, but the Seagulls proved to be problematic for City last season, with Guardiola's side failing to beat them in two attempts. After coming off against Spurs with an injury, Rayan Ait-Nouri is expected to be available for selection later today.
So, can City pick up three points against Brighton? We used EA FC 25 to get a score prediction.
Brighton vs Man City score predicted by simulation
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries, suspensions, and transfers. The kits from the 2025/26 season aren't available in EA FC 25, so both sides lined up in last season's kits, while new transfers may have incorrect squad numbers in-game.
We predict that Brighton could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van de Hecke, Dunk, De Cuyper; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, O'Riley, Mitoma; Welbeck.
We predict that City could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Trafford; Lewis, Stones, Dias, Ait-Nouri; Gonzalez, Reijnders; Silva, Cherki, Marmoush; Haaland.
A clumsy challenge from Ruben Dias saw Brighton awarded a penalty just three minutes in, and after missing from the penalty spot against Everton last week, Danny Welbeck didn't make the same mistake again as he fired into the top left corner to make it 1-0. An uneventful first half played out after the early goal, but just three minutes after the restart, Brighton shocked City as they doubled their lead.

Kaoru Mitoma beat Rico Lewis with ease down the left as he carried the ball towards the City box, and as support arrived, he picked out Matt O'Riley just outside the area. The midfielder used his body to shield the ball from his marker, and after one touch out of his feet, he picked out the far corner with a fantastic curling effort to send Brighton 2-0 up.
City didn't let the second goal affect them, though, and just two minutes later, they pulled a goal back as Erling Haaland headed home a corner at the near post. All of a sudden, City were in control, and just five minutes after Haaland's strike, they scored again, with Omar Marmoush's drilled cross being turned into the net off the knee of Lewis Dunk.
Guardiola's side had turned the game on its head, and with 15 minutes to go, they completed the comeback to go ahead for the first time.

A one-two between Phil Foden and Lewis saw the latter break past the Brighton defence and fire a cross into the box from the byline. The ball fell to the feet of Haaland, and rather than shooting, the striker flicked the pass into the path of Bernardo Silva, who swept his shot into the bottom corner.
Brighton had no response for City's fantastic comeback, with Guardiola's side picking up a big three points on the road.
