Bruno Fernandes praised Cole Palmer on Instagram following his hat-trick for Chelsea against Wolves, sparking 'agent Bruno' jokes from fans
Bruno Fernandes has sent Cole Palmer a message following Chelsea's 3-1 victory over Wolves, in which the forward netted a hat-trick. Palmer found the back of the net again in what has been an injury-hampered campaign so far.
The 23-year-old bagged all three goals for Chelsea in the opening period at Molineux, demonstrating the influence he can have on a fixture. During his debut season at Stamford Bridge, Palmer scored 27 goals across all competitions, won several individual honours, and cemented his place as an England regular.
His displays even prompted transfer talk during the January window, with reports suggesting Manchester United were monitoring him amid claims he was experiencing homesickness.
While Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior played down those suggestions, it's evident that figures at United have been monitoring his development closely.
Fernandes was seen in the comments section of Palmer's Instagram post following the fixture, where the Chelsea player shared various images from the match with the caption: "Just enjoy."
The Portuguese captain responded: "What a player," accompanied by a clapping emoji. His comment rapidly accumulated more than 3,900 likes and hundreds of responses.
Some supporters jokingly labelled him "agent Bruno," whilst another commented: "I see what you're doing here, mate."

Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford, presently on loan at Barcelona from United, also liked the post. Palmer has openly admitted that he was a United supporter as a child, despite progressing through the academy of their city rivals.
He has also revealed that he admired United legend Wayne Rooney during his youth.
As Palmer strives to regain his top form, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior expressed his satisfaction with the player's performance, stating: "We know what a world-class player he is.
"He's played a lot of football over the last year with not much rest. When he's at his best, he's unstoppable.
"I'm delighted to be working with him."
However, after the match, Palmer also shared his thoughts on the recent rumours surrounding his future, telling the BBC: "Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don't they? I don't pay too much attention to it.
"You see things. But I feel like I've come from a strong place anyway so I don't pay attention to it."
