Bukayo Saka urges Arsenal to “keep going” as the Gunners stretch six points clear in their quest for a first Premier League title in over 20 years

Bukayo Saka has issued a message to Arsenal supporters as the club continues its pursuit of a first Premier League title in over 20 years.

The Gunners’ 2-0 win over Burnley last weekend marked their seventh consecutive victory with a clean sheet. Since their defeat to Liverpool in late August, Mikel Arteta’s side have won all but one game - the only exception being a dramatic draw with Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal ended gameweek 10 six points clear at the top of the table, with Man City in second and reigning champions Liverpool a further point behind in third.

After finishing runners-up three seasons in a row, Arsenal captain Saka offered encouragement to supporters following the weekend’s win.

The England international shared a post on Instagram after the Burnley clash, captioned: "Momentum. Thank you to all the travelling fans. We keep going!"

In recent seasons, Arsenal have struggled to get over the line in decisive moments, with City and Liverpool capitalising on late slip-ups.

Many pundits and fans attributed their shortcomings to the absence of a clinical striker, something Arteta looked to address this summer by signing Viktor Gyokeres.

With the Swedish forward, who scored 54 goals last season, now leading the line, and a defence that has conceded just three times in their opening 10 league games, Arsenal are seen by many as favourites to finally reclaim the Premier League crown.

Next up for the Gunners is a trip to face high-flying Sunderland at the Stadium of Light before the international break, followed by a north London derby against Tottenham at the Emirates.

Arteta’s side have already faced title rivals City and Liverpool this season, taking just one point from those meetings. They will face Liverpool again in January, before travelling to the Etihad in April for what could be a decisive showdown in the title race.
