Bukayo Saka believes Arsenal will be able to win trophies and make club history over the coming years after making to easy decision to sign a new contract.
Saka said after signing a long-term extension: "I'm feeling amazing. It's a fantastic moment for my family and for me. I feel immense joy to continue my journey at this club. For me, it was an easy commitment, and I just hope to win everything here.
"The journey that I've been on, from where I started to where I am now, and the journey the team's been on as well, is a special one. I believe the next few years are going to be the years that we get over the line, and we're able to win trophies and make history for this club. We're back where we belong, fighting for everything."
Saka also spoke about wearing the captain's armband several times this season in the absence of Martin Odegaard. He said: "For the first few times, it was almost like a general shock when you get that armband. It's like you've been given that responsibility, and it was a massive honour.
"I remember the first time clearly, it was at Stamford Bridge. I wasn't having a great game, but I was like: 'phew, I've got this armband, I've got to do something.'
"I think I ended up getting an assist. That's what I meant about having an adrenaline shock; it's a good feeling.
"Still to this day, every time I get to wear it, it's a massive honour. I just try to fulfil that role and do what's required of me." The Gunners announced his new deal a day after they drew 2-2 with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Saka scored the opening goal of that game, hinting at the signing of a contract extension with his celebration.

However, the winger was substituted midway through the second half after receiving treatment, around 10 minutes after Wolves halved the deficit. He could thus only watch on as Tom Edozie equalised in the fourth minute of added time.
Saka said after the match about the away changing room atmosphere: "It's pretty flat. We're pretty disappointed with the result; it's the only way to describe it.
"I think it's a game of two halves. In the first half, we started so well, but in the second half, we dropped the level and got punished for it."
Looking ahead to the weekend's North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, he added: "It was already a big game, and now it's still a big game.
"We just know these last few games that we have left, we need to win. It's still in our control, so we just need to focus on that, fix the issues we're having now and get back to winning ways."
