Everything you need to know as Chelsea edged up into second place in the Premier League table thanks to goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez, as Enzo Marseca's side won 2-0 at Turf Moor
What you need to know from Chelsea's 2-0 victory at Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
Early Burnley pressure: Burnley posed a threat in the early stages, particularly from a good opportunity for Anthony that was denied by a great recovery block from Andrey Santos. This showed the home side was looking dangerous in attack early on.
Burnley denied penalty: Chelsea were lucky to not give away a penalty in the 28th minute. During a goal kick, Robert Sanchez played the ball with his feet to Trevoh Chalobah, who stopped it with his hand. The referee indicated play hadn't started properly, but Burnley felt aggrieved.
The breakthrough goal: Chelsea opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a header from winger Pedro Neto. The goal came from a wonderful clipped ball delivered into the box by team-mate Jamie Gittens.
Half-time assessment: The score stood at 1-0 in Chelsea’s favour when the halftime whistle blew at Turf Moor. The visitors secured the lead, but the live commentary noted it was "not the best showing" from the Blues up to that point.
Key defensive substitution: Chelsea made an important change at the start of the second half, with defender Badiashile coming on to replace Reece James. This was the first substitution made by the visiting side to adjust their lineup, but wasn't down to an injury. Enzo Maresca confirmed it was a pre-planned sub ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Barcelona.
Neto hits the post: Chelsea was inches away from doubling their lead when Pedro Neto struck the post in the second half. The opportunity arose quickly after an error from Florentino allowed Enzo Fernandez to set up the shot.
Second-half dynamics: The second half saw Chelsea begin with greater control in possession, though they struggled to capitalise on it. They were described as "lacking cutting edge" as they searched for a decisive second goal to secure the win.
Burnley's missed chance: The home side had a major opportunity to equalise when Flemming was played through with a long ball that beat the Chelsea defence. However, the Burnley forward failed to keep his shot down, letting the Blues off the hook.
Maresca’s final changes: Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca later made further offensive substitutions to influence the closing stages of the game. These included bringing on Gusto for Delap and Guiu replacing Joao Pedro on the attack.
All the difference: Guiu's introduction proved pivotal, as he forced his way into space in the box in stoppage time, before cutting the ball back to Enzo Fernandez who buried the ball home with a low drive.
