Canada Soccer is waiting on answers after a cancellation notice was sent to ticket-holders for the national team's scheduled Nov. 18 men's friendly with Venezuela at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Canada Soccer says it was told by the Venezuelan Football Association and its match promoter that the game remains on and that Chase Stadium's cancellation notice was "premature."

But a venue change is possible, it appears.

"As the away team, we are working closely with all parties and remain open to solutions that best serve our men's national team and their preparations for next year's World Cup," Canada Soccer said in a statement.

Both No. 28 Canada and No. 46 Venezuela are playing earlier games in the November FIFA window.

Canada hosts No. 25 Ecuador on Nov. 10 at Toronto's BMO Field while Venezuela faces No. 44 Nigeria at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston.
