CF Montreal has fired its head coach, Marco Donadel, who held the position for just six months, the club said in a statement posted to its website Sunday morning.

Philippe Eullaffroy will take over until a new permanent head coach is hired, the club announced, adding that assistant coaches Jacopo Falanga and Lorenzo Pinzauti are also no longer part of the organization.

The club's decision comes after a tough start to the season for the team which lost its first home game Saturday against the last-placed team, the Philadelphia Union.

CF Montreal has only won one of its first seven games and currently sits second last in the standings.

Donadel was named permanent head coach in October 2025 after filling the position on an interim basis beginning earlier that year, in March.

He had taken over from Laurent Courtois who was fired after an 0-4-1 start to the season that saw CF Montréal score only two goals and concede nine.

Donadel, from Conegliano, Italy, joined CF Montréal as an assistant coach on Dec. 29, 2024. He also played for the team as a midfielder from 2015-18.
