Liam Rosenior has been named Chelsea's new head coach following the shock exit of Enzo Maresca. The 41 year old has put pen to paper on a lucrative deal that extends until 2032.
The Blues severed ties with Maresca on New Year's Day, and the Englishman swiftly emerged as the frontrunner to take the reins. Rosenior joins from French outfit Strasbourg, whom he steered into European competition last season – another club under the ownership of the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital consortium.
"I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club," Rosenior said. "This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies.

To be entrusted with this role means the world to me and I want to thank all involved for the opportunity and faith in undertaking this job. I will give everything to bring the success this club deserves.
"I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, togetherness and working for one another, and those values will be at the heart of everything we do. They will be the foundation of our success.
"I am excited to work with this extremely talented group of players and staff, to build strong connections on and off the pitch, and to create an environment where everyone feels united and driven by the same goal. There is a real hunger to win, and I will give everything, every single day, to help this team compete and win at the very highest level to make everyone connected and proud to be a part of Chelsea Football Club.
"I want our fans to be proud of who we are and what we represent in every single game that we play. They are the soul of this enormous, historic and huge football club. I cannot wait to meet you all. I cannot wait to get started."
Maresca departed Chelsea following growing boardroom tensions alongside worsening performances on the pitch. The 45 year old's departure arrived just six months after guiding Chelsea to Club World Cup triumph, having also secured the previous season's Conference League trophy.

Rosenior's reputation has grown at Strasbourg, who currently occupy seventh place in Ligue 1 and count several former Blues amongst their squad, including Ben Chilwell. They're also leading the Conference League standings, having secured victory in all but one fixture.
However, Rosenior arrives at Stamford Bridge without any Premier League experience under his belt. His only two managerial stints in England saw him helm Derby County on an interim basis and spend just over 18 months at Hull City, where they narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
Chelsea currently sits fifth in the Premier League, a mere three points shy of the top four, as they strive to secure a Champions League spot once more. On the European front, the Blues are well-positioned to make the play-offs for the last 16, but still have two matches remaining in their quest for automatic qualification.
