Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele left the field early in their 5-2 win against Chelsea, and an injury update has been given on the French star

Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly have Ousmane Dembele available for the Champions League clash with Chelsea next week. The Blues were beaten 5-2 by the Ligue 1 giants in the first leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday night and face an uphill task to reach the quarter-final.

Chelsea will return to Stamford Bridge for the second leg on Tuesday night and will seemingly still have to go up against Ballon d’Or winner Dembele.

The France international handed PSG an injury scare in the first leg in Paris when he was substituted in the second half at the Parc des Princes.

Dembele was spotted limping as he made his way off the pitch in the French capital, which led to concerns about his fitness after the forward only recently returned from a calf injury that kept him on the sidelines for three matches.

A fresh report from journalist Fabrice Hawkins has provided an update on Dembele’s fitness amid fears the forward had suffered another injury.

The report claims that Dembele has not picked up a fresh injury, with the substitution put down to PSG boss Luis Enrique wanting to rest the player ahead of the second leg.

As a result, Dembele is expected to be fit and available to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next week.

PSG will have nearly a week to prepare to face Chelsea in the second leg, after their Ligue 1 match originally scheduled to be played this weekend was rescheduled.

The reigning Champions League winners were due to face Nantes this weekend in Ligue 1, but it was confirmed by the French football governing body Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), that the game would be moved to later in the season.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will return to Premier League action this weekend, where they will face Newcastle United on home soil.

After the defeat in Paris, Rosenior explained where he hopes to see Chelsea improve ahead of the second leg against PSG next week.

"I need us to maintain our calm in the moment when we have setbacks," Rosenior said. "This is on me. It's not a blame of the team.

"It's something that we've spoken about from my first day coming in, about reacting positively, about staying calm in moments and it's not happened. That's why it's on me. That's not pointing the finger of blame at the players.

"The intensity of our press, some of our football, some of the chances we created was outstanding. If we don't overcome this hurdle, we won't reach our potential and it's my job to find the answer to it."
