Chelsea are expected to have a busy summer transfer window with arguments to be made that every outfield department needs to be strengthened before next season starts
Since BlueCo bought Chelsea in May 2022, a total of 48 players have been signed by the club on permanent contracts. In four summers, the Blues have averaged 12 permanent incomings per transfer window.
As we approach the 2026 summer window, now a few months away from opening, many are expecting Stamford Bridge officials to be very busy once again. If you look at the Chelsea squad, you could make a serious case that every outfield department could be strengthened.
Ever since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital bought the Blues almost four years ago, the club has worked under a certain model. Part of that model is identifying young talent - from all around the world - and striking a deal as early as possible, even if it means Chelsea will have to wait for x player to become theirs.

See Estevao Willian, for example. Chelsea have four players set to arrive at the club in the upcoming summer transfer window after agreeing deals with their respective clubs previously.
Chelsea have pre-agreed deals for Geovany Quenda (Sporting CP), Dastan Satpayev (FC Kairat), Denner Evangelista (Corinthians) and Emanuel Emegha (Strasbourg), all of whom will join this summer.
Where they will play their football next season remains to be seen, though in Quenda's case, he is set to be part of Chelsea's first-team picture next term, football.london understands. You would expect Emegha, too, to be part of the squad and challenge the likes of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap for the No.9 spot at Stamford Bridge.
Mike Penders is currently on loan at Strasbourg and Chelsea are set to review his situation in the summer. The young Belgian goalkeeper has impressed in France and given the uncertainty over Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen at the time of writing, it is set to be an area the club assesses given their high hopes for Penders.
