Trevoh Chalobah will be back from suspension when Chelsea travel to Nottingham Forest after the international break. However, Enzo Maresca should also be able to call upon a number of stars who have recently been sidelined due to injury.
The Blues were facing a defensive crisis during the second-half of their dramatic 2-1 win over Liverpool after losing Josh Acheampong and Benoit Badiashile to fitness issues. But Chelsea trudged on to earn all three points and moving forward, things should only get better from here for Maresca.
Here football.london provides the latest on Chelsea's injury absentees and when said players could return.
Cole Palmer
Reece James
James was forced to withdraw from the England squad following Chelsea's hard-fought win over Liverpool.
He displayed on his Instagram story a picture of a large cut on his leg, though it's understood a separate problem has kept him out of action during the international break.
Nonetheless, it's only said to be minor and James, who has been in fine form for Chelsea, should be ready to kick on again versus Forest.
Josh Acheampong
Acheampong was substituted against Liverpool but the change was later described as precautionary by Chelsea assistant Willy Caballero. The young defender has since been spotted in training with England's U21s.
Benoit Badiashile
The big Frenchman impressed against Benfica and Liverpool - even if he hobbled off. However, it's understood he only suffered a knock as opposed to anything serious. Although it's not yet clear whether he'll be fit to face Forest, the issue is not believed to be as bad as initially feared.
Andrey Santos
Santos missed the games against Benfica and Liverpool through injury. Maresca did, however, make it clear he feels Santos will be back and available following the conclusion of the international break.
Tosin Adarabioyo
Tosin picked up a small issue with his calf ahead of the 3-1 defeat to Brighton. Medical staff are optimistic he should be back to feature after the break, potentially against Forest.
Wesley Fofana
The Frenchman has been following concussion protocols following a nasty clash with goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen in the Carabao Cup win at Lincoln City.
He should be ready to go against Forest, providing he has not picked up any other fitness issues since the game at Sincil Bank.
Long-term absentees
Liam Delap is hoping to return to action in November after suffering a hamstring injury against Fulham in August.
Levi Colwill is focusing his efforts on his recovery following a rupture of his ACL - his season is all but over already.
Dario Essugo will not be back until 2026 after undergoing surgery of a thigh injury sustained on international duty with Portugal U21s.
