Despite being just four months into a new Premier League season, colours and features for Chelsea's 2026/27 third kit have supposedly been leaked online, with classic colours and a retro feature making a grand return

Chelsea's third kit for 2026/27 will have a retro crest and will be in a white, red and blue colourway, according to reports.
Despite being just four months into the current Premier League campaign, Opaleak claim that Nike's alternative kit colour schemes for next term have been leaked. In their report, the "kit news" page claims that Chelsea will run with a mainly white jersey for their third attire next season, with Rush Blue and Global Red features.
The source also expect Chelsea to return to their classic CFC lettering emblem incorporating a lion which was initially launched in 1985. It was last used in 2005, when the club rolled out their current badge in-line with the centenary of their foundation.
The last time that Chelsea utilised a white third kit was in 2016/17, instead opting for off-white tones in the years since. That year, the Blues won the Premier League title under the stewardship of Antonio Conte.
While some were happy with the supposed leak of the club's alternate colours for 2026/27, others were less than impressed on social media. One person wrote: "Funny how a crest no one liked at the time and we were all happy when it was replaced is now presented as retro as though that is a great thing."
A second added: "Surely not that particular badge..." while a third asked: "Why choose that crest?" To the latter, another user replied: "Fans wanted our old badge (or something similar) back & to get shot of that Millwall lion thing.
"Roman Abramovich did that for us. This is ridiculous. You have ONE club badge, not two or three."
Others, however, were convinced by the rumoured colours. One praised: "This is gonna be so sick, no doubt," while a second added: "Sounds weird...but why not...let’s have it."
It comes as retro made a return for 2025/26, with Chelsea opting for a black third kit this season with a white trim on the neck and sleeves. It also contains blue lining in a throwback to the Total 90 era of 2000.
The shirt also uses the emblem that Chelsea adopted between 2003 and 2005, albeit with white lettering on a black background rather than blue lettering on a white base. This season's shirt also holds the Club World Cup badge, as a result of Chelsea winning the tournament this summer thanks to a 3-0 drubbing of Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
Regardless of their choice of attire, Chelsea have enjoyed a stellar start to the new Premier League season. Under Enzo Maresca's guidance, the Blues currently sit third in the standings with six wins, two draws and three losses to show for their efforts.
They also sit just six points shy of London rivals and current table toppers, Arsenal. After enjoying a 3-0 win over Wolves at the weekend, Chelsea head into the November international break in high spirits, and will hope to pick up where they left off when they face Burnley at Turf Moor come Saturday November 22 in their next outing.
