Alejandro Garnacho's agent reportedly visited Stamford Bridge months before the Argentinian left Manchester United for Chelsea last summer, but his future with the Blues is now uncertain

Alejandro Garnacho reportedly made his desire to leave Manchester United for Chelsea clear several months before his eventual departure, with his representatives even visiting the Blues 15 months ago. Garnacho ultimately completed his move to the Blues at the end of last summer in a deal worth up to £40million.

Since making the switch, Garnacho has featured in 38 appearances for Chelsea, netting just eight goals in his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The Argentina international has had to navigate a managerial change during his first season in west London, with Chelsea parting ways with Enzo Maresca in favour of Liam Rosenior back in January.

Just months on from his departure from Old Trafford, fresh details have emerged regarding Garnacho's future, shedding some light on his final season at United.

According to The Sun, Chelsea are reportedly weighing up whether to cash in on Garnacho just 12 months after bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

The report further claims that Garnacho was so eager to join Chelsea as far back as January last year, with his agent making a visit to Stamford Bridge during that same month.

The Chelsea star's representatives were in attendance for the Premier League clash against Wolves in January last year.

Garnacho's representative is former Chelsea player Enrique de Lucas, and it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the Blues forward.

Last summer, Garnacho made clear his desire to depart United and was openly critical of then-manager Ruben Amorim, following the decision to drop the forward to the bench for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

This was compounded by Garnacho being omitted from the squad for the Premier League fixture against Aston Villa on the final day of last season, and the forward has since spoken honestly about his final months as a United player.

“I remember that, in the last six months, I was not playing like before at Manchester United,” Garnacho recently told Premier League Productions.

“I started to be on the bench. It’s not such a bad thing – I was only 20 years old – but in my mind it was like I had to play every game.

“In my mind, maybe it was also on me. I started to do some bad things. But it was just a moment in life and sometimes you have to make decisions. I am really proud to be [at Chelsea] and still in the Premier League at a club like this.

“About United, I have nothing wrong to say about the club, anyone at the club or my team-mates. It was just a moment that changed and life continues. I have no regrets.”
