Chelsea have lost each of their last four games in all competitions, casting an element of doubt over Liam Rosenior's future
Nicky Butt has tipped Frank Lampard to replace Liam Rosenior as Chelsea head coach. The Blues boss enjoyed a brilliant start to life at Stamford Bridge, winning seven of his first 10 games in charge, but, having lost four games in a row, he now faces a somewhat uncertain future.
Speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast, the Manchester United legend claimed the Coventry gaffer would do an 'amazing job' in west London. Lampard made a great impression during his first stint, leading Chelsea to an FA Cup final.
He returned to the dugout a couple of years later as a caretaker manager, winning just one of his 11 games in charge. Butt said: "Do you think if Frank Lampard gets promotion with Coventry, they could go back in for Frank?
"He got the job too early the first time, I think. He had the transfer embargo, so he had to use a lot of young players. It wouldn’t be a stupid thing to go and get Frank Lampard back in charge of Chelsea for me.

"He’s done a great job at Coventry. He’s got a bit more experience now, and he probably made a few mistakes. He would be a totally different manager now.
"He would find it easier working with better players, easier for him to get his messages across to more technical players. I think he’d do an amazing job, I really do."
Chelsea appeared to have turned over a new leaf when Rosenior replaced Enzo Maresca in the dugout, climbing the Premier League table and qualifying directly to the UEFA Champions League knockout stages. Until March, the west Londoners had lost only three times across all competitions, each against Arsenal.
The Blues even snatched points from Aston Villa, claiming significant ground in the race for a place in the top four. A week later, any progress made under the former Strasbourg boss came crashing down when Paris Saint-Germain smashed Chelsea at the Parc des Princes.
They followed the humiliating result in the French capital with a defeat to Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge. Luis Enrique's side circled back a few days later and rubbed salt into the Chelsea wounds.

An explosive interview by Enzo Fernandez, which Rosenior later claimed was misconstrued, certainly didn't help, throwing fuel on the fire in west London. Since leaving to report for international duty, the Argentine has since doubled down on his comments, claiming he'll assess his future in the summer.
Chelsea are back in action on Saturday, April 4, when they host Port Vale in the quarter-final of the FA Cup. In the weeks that follow, the Blues face Manchester City and Manchester United.
Next month, Rosenior will hope extinguish any speculation over his future and begin the end-of-season run-in with a couple of much-needed wins.
