Chelsea make Liam Rosenior feelings perfectly clear amid sack rumours

Liam Rosenior's future at Stamford Bridge has been a talking point over the last week and Chelsea have now made their feelings on the head coach clear

Liam Rosenior will not lose his job as Chelsea head coach even if the club does not qualify for next season's Champions League.

Four straight defeats for Rosenior's side has brought some scrutiny on the 41-year-old and whether he is the right man for the job, but the Blues do not plan to formally review his position until the summer of 2027, football.london understands.

Barring an incredible implosion from Chelsea between now and the end of the season, Rosenior is likely to be in the dugout next term. Rosenior has been Blues head coach for less than three months after replacing Enzo Maresca following the Italian's dramatic departure on New Year's Day.

Chelsea are hoping to qualify for the Champions League for the second successive season but recent results, losing their last two Premier League matches, have made that more difficult. Fortunately for the Blues, those around them have been unable to take advantage of the west Londoners' poor form.

However, even if Chelsea are unable to finish inside the top five, Rosenior, who signed a six-and-a-half year contract in January, is still seen as the right man to lead the club forward. The Blues are prepared to back Rosenior, who is working in tandem with the club's sporting directors, in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are expected to be busy behind the scenes when the window opens, with several key areas set to be addressed.

Stamford Bridge sources have told football.london of their plans to bring in a new centre-back, midfielder and forward in the summer.
