Chelsea next five fixtures compared to Liverpool, Man Utd and Aston Villa in Champions League race

Chelsea have slipped to sixth in the Premier League table this weekend after their defeat to Arsenal and Liverpool's resounding win over West Ham

Chelsea suffered another blow to their Champions League hopes on Sunday as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Liam Rosenior's men made the Gunners work for their win and were arguably the stronger team in the first-half. After William Saliba put the home side ahead, Chelsea drew level courtesy of Piero Hincapie's own goal.

However, Mikel Arteta's side netted a winner through Jurrien Timber via another corner. The defeat leaves the Blues sixth in the Premier League table, three points behind Liverpool following their win against West Ham United.

On paper, Chelsea’s run is probably the hardest, especially with four of the next five games being away from home. Getting a result out of the trip to Arsenal would be a big boost to the Champions League hopes.

United being out of all domestic competitions means March is rather quiet in comparison to their top four rivals. After this week's games against Newcastle and Villa, United have two fixtures against Bournemouth and Leeds with a lengthy break.

Villa were the favourites to get Champions League football not long ago, but their recent results mean they have slipped to fourth. Alongside a tough Europa League tie against French side Lille, they take on the Blues and Manchester United in their next league games.

Liverpool are actually entering a much-welcomed run of fixtures, which started against West Ham United this weekend. They take on 20th-placed Wolves in the league and FA Cup before their double-header against Galatasaray.
