Chelsea are still yet to officially confirm their replacement for Enzo Maresca. After 2026 began with the Italian being dismissed from his position, Calum McFarlane remains in temporary charge.
The U21s chief has started his spell as interim head coach impressively by securing a credible 1-1 draw away to Manchester City, with Enzo Fernandez bundling in a last minute equaliser.
But in the background, Liam Rosenior appears to be moving closer and closer towards a move to Stamford Bridge.
The young Strasbourg boss recently flew into London to meet with Chelsea sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart. He is expected to become the fifth permanent manager of the BlueCo era after Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino and Maresca.
While talks continue, McFarlane is expected to remain in charge for Chelsea's away trip to Fulham on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if Rosenior will be in the dugout by the times the Blues go to Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup on Saturday night.
In the meantime, Rosenior is speaking to the media on Tuesday morning in France...
