Chelsea are still expected to sign more players even after the confirmed arrival of Alejandro Garnacho on Saturday evening. The Manchester United star has been a target for the Blues since January with a £40million agreement finally struck earlier this week.
The Argentine officially joins as Chelsea's tenth permanent signing this summer with Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato pursued and brought in over the last few months. Deals for Estevao Willian, Mike Penders and Kendry Paez were pre-agreed, but the trio technically joined this past summer.
As a result of those incomings to Stamford Bridge, several departures had to be sealed. Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka, Djorde Petrovic and Noni Madueke are just a few to have left this summer.
Nicolas Jackson looked primed to join that list with a loan move to Bayern Munich set to be confirmed pending a medical. However, football.london understands that Chelsea have informed the German champions they will no longer be proceeding with the loan.
That is because Delap picked up a hamstring injury against Fulham that Enzo Maresca expects him to miss weeks with. As Pedro is already covering in the No.10 position, following Cole Palmer's groin problem becoming too big to just manage, Chelsea really cannot afford to let Jackson go.
However, according to the Athletic's David Ornstein, the Blues are considering signing a striker before deadline day with a permanent exit for Jackson possible. Sporting CP's Conrad Harder has been named in their report as one striker that Chelsea have enquired about.
The 20-year-old has been strongly linked to AC Milan and RB Leipzig this summer with some in Germany even claiming an offer from the latter has been accepted. Even after Garnacho, it is very clear Maresca wants further attacking reinforcements and he is getting exactly that.

Facundo Buonanotte is set to join on a season-long loan from Brighton after Chelsea lost out on the signing of Xavi Simons to Tottenham. They have wasted no time in responding to that though with one deal agreed and a proposal submitted for another potential frontline addition.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a bid has been lodged for Barcelona star Fermin Lopez. The value of that is £34.6million (€40m) with Romano later adding that the Catalan club do not want to sell unless Lopez asks to leave.
Despite there only being two days of the transfer window left, three big Chelsea transfers could still be agreed with Jackson departing permanently which would see a new striker join potentially alongside Lopez.
