Chelsea next three transfers decided after Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho amid £155m plan

Chelsea could sanction three big transfers even after signing Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons from Manchester United and RB Leipzig, respectively. The Blues have opened talks for both with each deal considered separate and as such, it looks likely the duo will arrive at Stamford Bridge.

Discussions for Simons are likely far more advanced having started a number of weeks ago, but Man United's eagerness to sell Garnacho may result in that deal moving swiftly. Selling Noni Madueke, Djorde Petrovic, Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu has helped Chelsea continue targeting additions.

The prize money from winning the Club World Cup has also helped Enzo Maresca's side afford to sign Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato this summer.

Come the end of August, new signings and exits could have hit double-figures with most of the changes having arrived in attacking areas and on the exit front, that looks set to continue with Christopher Nkunku expected to depart.

Bayern Munich and Manchester United are admirers of the Frenchman but have already spent big on other frontline additions. A move to Saudi Arabia, which would see him follow in the footsteps of Felix and Darwin Nunez, cannot be ruled out with the 27-year-old now being valued at £43million.

Despite being a regular starter last season, Nicolas Jackson may also be on his way out with Maresca's comments suggesting he is not untouchable.

"Nico is okay," he admitted on Thursday morning. "When the window is open, anything can happen. This involves Nico's situation. At the moment, the two strikers have arrived. So we will see."

Newcastle United appear to be the club most likely to sign him having lost out on Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko to Liverpool and Manchester United, respectively. The Magpies are capable of coming close to Chelsea's £80million asking price having submitted a £73.7million bid to RB Leipzig in an attempt to sign Sesko.

Assuming those deals go through, that would likely conclude Chelsea's summer transfer business unless the injury to Levi Colwill is serious. Prior to his Jackson admission, Maresca revealed that the England centre-back had suffered an issue in training.

"We had a problem the last two days about Levi Colwill," the Chelsea boss revealed. "We don't know how long he will be out for. Hopefully not too long. It's a problem. We need to wait. We don't know yet."

The severity of his injury is currently unclear but an extended spell out could result in Chelsea moving to sign another centre-back especially as Benoit Badiashile is currently out, though targeting a September return, while Wesley Fofana has been plagued by injuries.

Trying to agree a Marc Guehi return back to west London would be the most likely play, with his contract at Crystal Palace expiring next summer. The Blues sold him for £20million but did include a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the deal and bringing him back may cost just £32million with a fifth of his £40million asking price wiped out.
