Chelsea's wait for a win in December continues with the Blues throwing away a one-goal lead against Atalanta on Tuesday evening.
The defeat for Chelsea saw them drop out of the top eight of the Champions League league phase table, with the west Londoners recording 10 points from six games.
Joao Pedro gave the Blues the lead on 25 minutes with a smart finish after being picked out by Reece James’ cross.
Atalanta found the equaliser on 55 minutes with Charles De Ketelaere’s delivery met by the head of Gianluca Scamacca.
De Ketelaere then gave the Italian side the lead late on with his deflected shot beating Robert Sanchez, who could not keep the ball out despite getting a hand on it.
Here is how Bobby Vincent rated the performances of the Chelsea players:
Robert Sanchez - Has started the last three Champions League games. Does well to stop Ademola Lookman early on from giving Atalanta the lead. Could have done better for Atalanta's second goal. 5.
Josh Acheampong - A first Champions League start - and it came at right-back. Fantastic cross-field pass to Jamie Gittens around 12 minutes in that started an attack for the Blues. An unbelievable block on 19 minutes to prevent what looked a certain goal for Lookman. Blocked a Lookman shot again later in the first-half. A genuinely top performance from the teenage sensation. 9.
Trevoh Chalobah - Chalobah was solid back there for the Blues. Though he did pick up a silly booking in the first-half that put him under a bit more pressure. Off at half-time. 6.
Benoit Badiashile - Badiashile was aggressive; always looking to step up and steal possession from Atalanta. A reminder that he is an extremely handy centre-back when he is fit and available. 6.
Marc Cucurella - Cucurella was very positive in possession; often drifting into central areas but was let down by a lack of options when he arrived there. Bright. 6.
Reece James - James produced a brilliant assist for Joao Pedro on 25 minutes. A good run and an even better ball into the danger zone. A pleasure to watch at the moment. 8.
Moises Caicedo - Great for Chelsea to have Caicedo back in the line-up. And if they needed reminding about the impact he can have, he made a couple of sharp interceptions in the first few minutes of the game. 7.
Pedro Neto - Neto was not as involved as he usually is. Showed some bright moments but was largely anonymous in Bergamo. 6.
Enzo Fernandez - Fernandez was very involved early on but a bit erratic with his crossing and shooting. Sloppier than usual, and worrying signs given he was the same at Bournemouth over the weekend. Looks tired. 5.
Jamie Gittens - Gittens looked bright early on, looking to get at the wing-back constantly and as a result pushing him back. Drifted out of the game, unfortunately. 5.
Joao Pedro - Fantastic for the Brazilian to get a goal. Intelligent movement saw him find space towards the near post, and it was a really delicate finish. 8.
Wesley Fofana (on for Chalobah 46') - On at the half-time break. Allowed too much space for Scamacca for the striker's goal. Took a whack to the head, meaning his time on the pitch was cut short. 5.
Malo Gusto (on for Fernandez 66') - Comes on in midfield, almost as the No.10. Was not too involved. 6.
Alejandro Garnacho (on for Neto 66') - Not the desired impact from the Argentine. 6.
Tosin Adarabioyo (on for Fofana 76') - Came on for the final 15-or-so minutes. N/A.
