Chelsea predicted XI vs Brentford with two changes as Cole Palmer and Reece James decisions made

The predicted Chelsea line-up for this afternoon's Premier League clash with Brentford as Liam Rosenior faces some tough decisions regarding the personnel he picks

A group of Chelsea supporters are planning a pre-match protest this afternoon outside of Stamford Bridge to voice their discontent against the club's ownership and sporting directorship.

This will all take place before the Blues' Premier League clash against Brentford this afternoon - in what will be Liam Rosenior's first top-flight fixture in charge of the west Londoners. Rosenior will be keen for the planned pre-match protest to not affect him or his players with high-flying Brentford in town today.

The Bees, managed by Keith Andrews, go into the weekend in fifth-place, just two points behind the reigning champions Liverpool. Given Chelsea's patchy league form at Stamford Bridge, this promises to be a really tough game for Rosenior and his players.

And, with that being said, football.london takes a look at the XI the Chelsea head coach might choose for today's game. Let us know in the comments section down below whether you agree with our selection.

Robert Sanchez

Despite a poor performance on Wednesday evening, Sanchez is set to keep his place in goal for the Blues. The Spaniard's form under Enzo Maresca was outstanding, so he will be desperate to return to something close to that level against a dangerous Brentford attack.

Josh Acheampong

Acheampong could get another go at right-back. Reece James might not make the starting XI given he has only trained twice this week, while Malo Gusto doesn't appear to be quite ready to return.

Trevoh Chalobah

Chalobah is set to start again for the Blues. Not his best performance against Arsenal. He seemed hesitant in possession and that gave the Gunners encouragement when pressing the Chelsea defenders, albeit he wasn't the only one.

Wesley Fofana

Fofana was guilty of that, too. Both centre-backs need to be back to their best this afternoon with Brentford striker Igor Thiago a man in red-hot form.

Marc Cucurella

Cucurella is expected to start at left-back. There is a valid argument for Jorrel Hato, who has been really impressive in recent appearances, but Rosenior might go for the more experienced and trusted option in Cucurella instead.

Moises Caicedo

Chelsea missed Caicedo's presence in the centre of midfield against Arsenal on Wednesday. After serving his one-match Carabao Cup suspension, the Ecuadorian is set to return to the XI for this afternoon's game.

Andrey Santos

Rosenior could turn to Santos once again given Chelsea's injury situation. The Brazilian could partner Caicedo at the base of the Blues' midfield. It would be good to see Dario Essugo get some minutes from the bench at some point. Romeo Lavia remains unavailable.

Pedro Neto

Rosenior, earlier this week, was very complimentary of Neto and his performance against Arsenal. While he frustrates supporters at times, Neto has been one of Chelsea's more consistent attackers this season in terms of his output in front of goal.

Enzo Fernandez

Cole Palmer is set to return to the Chelsea squad, but like James, he has only trained twice this week. The 23-year-old could be an option from the bench, with Fernandez pushing up into the No.10 role with Caicedo and Santos behind him for cover.

Alejandro Garnacho

Garnacho made an excellent impact against the Gunners in midweek. Scoring twice from the bench, the Argentine winger deserves a start against the Bees this afternoon.

Joao Pedro

Liam Delap has been suffering with illness this week - and it sounds pretty nasty. So it is unlikely he features at Stamford Bridge. Joao Pedro could get the nod. Chelsea and Rosenior need to see more from the Brazil international, and that starts today.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Sanchez; Acheampong, Chalobah, Fofana, Cucurella; Santos, Caicedo; Neto, Fernandez, Garnacho; Joao Pedro
