Chelsea predicted XI vs Qarabag as Enzo Maresca makes key Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens decisions

The predicted Chelsea line-up for the west Londoners' Champions League trip to Baku, Azerbaijan to take on Qarabag in their fourth European fixture of the campaign

Enzo Maresca has some tough decisions to make ahead of Chelsea's clash with Qarabag this evening as the Blues reach the halfway point of the Champions League league phase.

After three games in Europe, the west Londoners are on six points. Back-to-back home wins against Benfica and Ajax have Chelsea in a strong position despite their matchday one defeat away at Bayern Munich in September.

This evening's fixture is one Chelsea go into as big favourites but a potentially tricky test against Qarabag. The Azerbaijani side go into their fourth fixture on six points - the same total as the Blues - after wins against Benfica and Copenhagen.

Maresca has taken a strong squad to Baku in what will be an almost 5000-mile round trip to the border of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. So, with this being said, Bobby Vincent takes a look at the XI Maresca might field at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium:

Filip Jorgensen

After a fine performance against Tottenham on Saturday evening, Robert Sanchez could be rested for this one. Jorgensen started the last Champions League fixture, a win against Ajax at Stamford Bridge, and could be given the nod in Azerbaijan.

Malo Gusto

Gusto could be asked to go again after completing around 75 minutes at Spurs over the weekend. Reece James could be given a rest in Baku as Maresca continues to manage his captain's workload.

Josh Acheampong

A few were surprised Acheampong did not start against Spurs on Saturday. The 19-year-old defender has been so impressive over the course of the last month and could return to the side to take on Qarabag.

Tosin Adarabioyo

Tosin was brought on for the final few minutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, meaning he should be fresh and ready to go in Azerbaijan this evening. Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana both performed brilliantly in the win versus Spurs, but could be given a rest for this one.

Fanatics has slashed the price of Chelsea kits and merch with up to 60% off select items.

Jorrel Hato

A chance for Marc Cucurella to rest and that should mean an opportunity for Hato. The Dutchman made his Champions League debut for Chelsea last time out - completing the full 90 minutes against his former club Ajax - and could be asked to go again.

Romeo Lavia

Lavia was brought on against Tottenham, perhaps with Maresca having an eye on starting the Belgian in Azerbaijan. If he did start, the 21-year-old midfielder would likely be named on the bench on Saturday evening when Wolves come to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

Andrey Santos

A midfield partnership that worked so well against Wolves in the Carabao Cup seven days ago: Lavia and Santos. The latter looked much more at home with a defensive-minded player like Lavia sitting behind him. It allowed the Brazilian to roam and offer his services in the final third - something we can hopefully see again today.

Estevao Willian

Pedro Neto has not travelled with the rest of the squad due to an injury. It means Estevao could be given a go in Baku this evening on the right-hand side. Another chance to see the 18-year-old Brazil international in action is always a positive.

Facundo Buonanotte

This game seems perfect for a Buonanotte start. The 20-year-old has started the last two matches in the Champions League and has been quietly impressive. Joao Pedro has travelled with the squad but is not expected to take much part in Azerbaijan.

Jamie Gittens

Unfortunate not to start on Saturday given his heroics a few days before at Molineux. Gittens is starting to show his talent in a Chelsea shirt and these are the types of matches he should be targeting to flourish in as he looks to win over Maresca.

Liam Delap

Could be a third start of the season for Delap, and his first in over two months. The 22-year-old striker will be eager to prove a point after his silly red card seven days ago against Wolves.
