Chelsea have set their sights on Bournemouth star Alex Scott ahead of what is anticipated to be an overhaul of their midfield this summer.
Scott scored in Bournemouth‘s 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and has impressed in the Premier League so far this season. His impressive form even led to him being handed an England call-up by Thomas Tuchel back in November.
And now according to The Independent, Chelsea have accelerated their interest in Scott, but Bournemouth would want well over £50m, given how the midfielder signed from Bristol City for around £25m in the summer of 2023.

Enzo Fernandez continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the report from The Independent claims that the pursuit of Scott is still viewed as separate to that speculation, given the 22-year-old is set to be one of the most sought-after players this summer.
Scott caught the eye during his side’s win over the Gunners on Saturday, delivering a man-of-the-match performance, and he knows he must continue to perform for the Cherries if he is to go to the World Cup with England.
“Obviously you're really disappointed not to be in that latest squad,” he told BBC Radio Solent at the weekend. “But like I said after the game against United, it's head down, it's fuel for me.
“And I've got to keep playing, keep performing, performing like that, and hopefully I put myself in the picture come the summer. If not, so be it.
“Obviously I'm an England fan, so I want them to win whether I'm there or not. So yeah, either way, it's going to be a good summer. Hopefully I'll be in the squad. If not, then crack on again.”
While speaking last week, Liam Rosenior revealed fresh talks have taken place over Chelsea’s summer transfer targets.
He said: “Yeah, even over the last week, we've had lots of detailed conversations about what we need to look like moving forward from the summer window.
“You talk about all different aspects of the game — physicality, technicality, positional things.”
The 41-year-old added: “They're all things that we're in talks in and we know what we want to improve and we know where we want to improve in the summer.”
